Profound vs Scrunch (2026): pricing, engines, which to pick

Profound and Scrunch both monitor how AI engines describe a brand, and both now sell more than monitoring. Profound sells an AI Marketer agent that researches and writes; Scrunch sells a layer that serves AI agents an optimized site.

Stellarcast is our product, so read this knowing our bias. Every vendor fact below was read in a browser from tryprofound.com/pricing and scrunch.com/pricing on 18 October 2026 (Profound's CMS drafting from its homepage, 17 October 2026); anything a vendor does not state is marked "not published".

The short answer

Scrunch is the one you can buy today at a public price: Core is $250 a month for 125 prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot, with a 7-day free trial. Profound offers a free 7-day trial (50 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews) and then sells Enterprise by contract, tracking up to nine engines. Pick Scrunch for a self-serve start and its agent-facing site layer; pick Profound if you want an AI writing agent and enterprise analytics in one contract.

Sources: tryprofound.com/pricing (brands and agencies tabs); scrunch.com/pricing. Checked 18 October 2026. US dollars per month. Scrunch serves a second version of its pricing page to non-browser fetches (on 17 and 18 October 2026: Starter $250 a month billed annually for 350 prompts and seven engines); the browser showed the Core version above on both days.

Automated content workflows: the real difference

Searches comparing the two often ask about content workflows, and that is where they part ways. Profound's pricing page leads with its AI Marketer, which researches, writes and reports, plus Agents to build and reuse workflows for recurring marketing work and Sheets to run those agents at scale; its homepage adds that the AI Marketer rewrites pages and stages them as drafts in your CMS for approval. Scrunch's content features are lighter on Core (one page optimization a month, basic generation), and its bigger bet is AXP: rather than rewriting your pages, it serves AI agents a version of them built for machines. One changes what you publish; the other changes what agents are served.

Neither pricing page describes a method for proving that a change moved your visibility, which is the question a CFO asks after the first quarter.

Where each one wins

Where Stellarcast fits
