AI visibility

AI visibility is how often, and how prominently, a brand appears in the answers AI engines give to the questions its buyers ask: whether answers mention it, how it compares with competitors, and whether its pages are cited as sources.

The measures behind it

AI visibility is an umbrella for a few narrower measures. Mention rate counts presence: the share of answers that name you. AI share of voice is relative: of all the brand mentions in those answers, how many are yours. Citation share counts your pages used as sources, and sentiment describes how you are framed. Unlike search rankings, none of these has a fixed position, and each is measured per engine and per market because they differ.

Example

As an illustration, a brand tracks 25 buyer prompts on three engines for 30 days, 2,250 answers in all. It is named in 540 of them, a mention rate of 24%. Of all brand mentions in those answers, 18% are its own, and its pages are cited 95 times. Its daily mention rate had a P25-P75 range of 22% to 26%, so a single day at 21% is not, on its own, evidence of a decline.

How to measure it

Fix the prompts, the engines and the markets, then run the same set repeatedly through prompt tracking. Report each measure as a rate over days with a range, compare it with the competitors named in the same answers, and keep engines and markets separate before rolling them up.

How Stellarcast handles it

Stellarcast runs your tracked prompts daily on each engine in your plan, in each market you track, and records which brands every answer names and which sources it cites. Visibility and share-of-voice figures are shown per engine and per market with their P25-P75 range.
