LLMO
LLMO, short for large language model optimization, is the practice of improving how large language models represent and recommend a brand, both in answers drawn from what a model learned in training and in answers grounded in live web search.
Example
A company notices that an AI assistant describes it using a product name it retired two years ago. It publishes a clear, current description of its products on its own site and asks the directories and review sites that mention it to update their listings.
How it relates to GEO and AEO
LLMO overlaps with GEO and AEO. The term puts the emphasis on the model itself: what it already believes about a brand, not only which pages it retrieves for a given search.
Why it matters
Some answers rely mostly on what a model learned during training, which can lag behind your current products and positioning. Others rely on live retrieval. Consistent, accurate information across your site and the third-party sources that mention you can help in both cases, although how much any one source influences a model is rarely visible from outside.
